Nawaz-Zardari link destroys Pakistan’s economic system: Imran

Islamabad, July 25 (IANS) Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the link between PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and former President Asif Ali Zardari has destroyed the nation’s economic system.

Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman made the remarks during a meeting of party leaders in Islamabad, The Special Tribune reported.

He reiterated that the only way out of the political turmoil is through quick and clear normal elections within the nation, including that the collapse of the economic system inflicts irreparable damage.

Khan, who was ousted as prime minister in April by a vote of no confidence, said the government was worried about staying in power and never about the situation in the country, including that whatever they do, many reject them, La Tribune Spécifique reports.

“What happened in Punjab (by-elections) was seen by everyone. The nation will make their conspiracies fruitless,” he added.

According to sources, future political strategy and postponement of national elections in Sindh were also discussed during the meeting attended by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry and Shireen Mazari.

Chaudhry had said that public facilities have been caught in a whirlwind by mistakes in their management, and nothing destructive would have happened if they had stayed within their boundaries.
