Blessing of economic system uninteresting to people, says Fazlur Rehman
ISLAMABAD (Dunay News) – Jamait Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said on Wednesday that an interest-free economic system was a blessing for the people.
Fazl, in a meeting with Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar who visited him here at his residence, said it would help build an Islamic financial system and boost economic activities in the light of the Quran and the Sunnah.
He also paid tribute to the Minister of Finance and appreciated his bold decision to withdraw the appeal of the State and National Banks from the Supreme Court.
During the meeting, the two dignitaries discussed future strategies and measures to expand the radius of Islamic banking across the country.
Later, speaking to the media, Fazl appreciated Minister Dar’s tireless efforts to get Pakistan off the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) gray list.
He said that as long as Minister Dar was finance minister, Pakistan’s economy was on the right track and improving day by day.
“Resuming Appeal Against Federal Shariah Court Ruling Against Use Interest [in the banking sector] is a positive gesture and it has instilled happiness in the nation,” he said.
